Our fees for dealing with motoring offences can vary depending on whether the plea is Guilty or Not Guilty and the number of hearings involved.
The fees listed are for a motoring matter which does not have any legal or complex issues. VAT will be charged at the current prevailing rate which at present is 20%.
We offer both fixed fees and hourly rates.
Our hourly rate ranges from £180.00 plus Vat to £240.00 plus Vat and is dependant upon the experience of the solicitor involved.
We charge an initial consultation fee to start with based on our hourly rate. Thereafter, we typically try to agree a fixed fee tailored to your individual case.
For a guilty plea our work will include: initial consultation, preparation (considering evidence, taking instructions and advising), briefing Counsel and representation at the first Magistrate hearing only. Fees range from £1,650 + VAT to £2,500 + VAT.
For a not guilty plea our work will include: consultations, preparation (considering evidence, taking instructions and advising), briefing Counsel and representation for up to 2 Magistrate Court hearings. Fees for this range from £4,000 + VAT to £4,500 + VAT.
Prices vary depending on the complexity of your case. Examples include:
• Instruction of any expert witnesses.
• Taking statements from witnesses.
If you plead guilty, your case will typically be finished on the day of your hearing. If you plead not guilty, this can take between 3-8 months.
